A Conversation with Iver Arturo Principe
Mustard had the pleasure of speaking with Iver Arturo Principe. Together we discussed their influences, their newest song "lo q quires", and so much more!
1. Mustard is grateful to have you join them at Music Shelf. How are you doing?
I’m so good mustard thank you.
2. Mustard wonders what your relationship with music was growing up?
I was born and raised in Peru. My parents always played American music around the house like Bee Gees and Rod Steward. I think that had some influence on me.
3. Is there a song (or album) that had a significant impact on you?
the silence in black and white by Hawthorne heights. it motivated me to pick up a guitar and teach myself music!
4. What is your creative process?
I usually start with guitar then work into piano and fill out empty spaces with vocals and synth.
5. Who or (what) influences you?
I like to keep an open mind but Grupo Bectar is a huge influence on me.
6. What is something that makes you go in circles? How do you resolve this?
I love it. uhhh finding the balance between work and hobbies. It’s especially tough as a teacher to not bring work home.
7. When that special someone comes around, what do you like to do? What was the inspiration behind this single?
The longing and lusting was the inspiration. but I’ll take them to get Peruvian food. but I like to show out. Pea-cocking if you will.
8. You recently released “lo q quires” on your YouTube channel. Can you share more about this single?
this song is about an experience i had in January. trying to figure out how i could express myself and not making it out to be something more than it actually was.
9. If you could have whatever you want, what would you like and why?
open beach with my dogs so maybe like Orlando.
10. What is the horizon for Iver Arturo Principe?
working on music and moving to Texas! not necessarily in that order
12. Where can readers listen to your music?
